My experience at Sodexo Philippines has shown me that leadership is not simply about a title. It is about continuous learning, creating value, empowering others, and driving positive change. I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given and excited about the journey ahead, knowing that in an organization like Sodexo, growth is not limited by where you start, but by how willing you are to learn, contribute, and lead.

From Opportunity to Leadership: A Journey of Growth at Sodexo

I joined Sodexo in 2024 with a clear goal: to grow my career, expand my skills, and make a meaningful impact. I initially came on board as a temporary replacement for an FP&A Manager role, eager to contribute and learn from the talented professionals around me.

What immediately stood out to me was Sodexo's culture of recognition and appreciation. Just three months into my journey, the company acknowledged my performance and commitment by offering me a permanent position. This was not only a validation of my efforts but also a testament to Sodexo's belief in investing in people who demonstrate passion and potential.

Over the following six months, I immersed myself in cross-functional collaboration, working closely with various teams to enhance reporting processes, strengthen financial visibility, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. As a result of these contributions and with the unwavering support of the leadership team, an exciting opportunity emerged for me to take on the role of Head Controller for the IFM segment. This promotion marked a significant milestone in my career. More importantly, it came with the trust and empowerment to influence not only finance but also operations and other business functions.

Guided by exceptional leaders and supported by a collaborative team, I was able to drive initiatives that improved operational efficiency, strengthened risk management practices, and delivered meaningful cost optimization. These improvements contributed to a stronger financial position for the segment while creating new opportunities for sustainable growth.

 

What makes this journey especially meaningful is that it reflects Sodexo's commitment to developing talent from within. The company creates an environment where individuals who consistently perform, embrace challenges, and demonstrate leadership are given opportunities to grow and succeed.

Today, I am honored to take on an even broader responsibility as the Head of Commercial Finance and Controllership for the Sodexo Philippines, overseeing both Food Services and Facilities Management. This opportunity represents more than a career progression; it reflects the trust, support, and belief that Sodexo has placed in me throughout my journey.
